The Gardener

Wake up in the morning and look to the horizon;

They are not as clear as they used to be.

The mist of things I have chosen to do, to support myself,

And the blur of daily chores have become intense and suffocating.

These choices, mine they are;

But I now think how mine they really are.

Where have my dreams fled?

Perhaps replaced by desires misconstrued as dreams

Whom do they belong to?

Don’t recollect their inception;

Maybe were planted by the reactive self,

Maybe were nurtured by the devil competitiveness,

Maybe were driven by others’ expectations.

Somehow know the seeds are somewhere cocooned there

Dormant in the still ‘undeveloped’ mind of mine

Untouched by the adulterating life experiences.

Sprout they will,

Only if the emigrated gardener takes to his original job,

Returns to the orchard and sprinkles some watering thoughts.

Vikas..awesome piece man! All i can manage is this line i heard somewhere.."you mostly find your destiny on the road you take to avoid it!" (now it can be your destiny you find or your bad luck :P)

So the thing is to keep walking..and get rid of that deep rooted fear..its lying somewhere inside of you man..

Resonating Thoughts my friend..Brilliantly written!! If only, we introspected enough! Sigh!

I agree prof..Original dreams do get lost..But 'foolishly optimistically', maybe the new dreams we chase(the ones formed without inceptions as you say), lead us to destinations much beyond what we imagined, orchards 'fruitier' than we hoped for, and gardens greener than ones we emigrated from :)

bhai there are expectations and then there are self-imposed expectations...and its hard to distinguish both but still we can try to differentiate and address each on its merit

Have not read such nicely written stuff in a long time... the beauty of it is that most of us would be able to relate to it...
