Unbroken Glass
Ever tried joining the shattered pieces of glass
With all the capacity,
all your wisdom,
All the willingness
to undo the already done.
Ever tried tying together
The pearls of a broken band
With all the
creativity, all the emotions,
All the
wishes and the unheard prayers
Have you ever
wondered,
What keeps you going?
Amid all the
helplessness, the tiredness,
And the
inevitability of a painful loss…
What keeps
you steely when all is stolen?
What keeps you
brave when everything is grave?
What is it
inside us who accepts not the brokenness?
Is it a
higher human virtue?
Or, just a kid
inside us
Nostalgic for
the unbroken moments,
Longing for
those images etched in memory,
And just not willing to let go.
